oh damn, i thought that this story was overall going to just ignore the fact that chester was raped but theyre actually going out of their way to show the trauma it left him with
highkey hoping that they dont make the traumatized victim of kidnapping and rape into the main villain tho. im oki if he does some shitty stuff cuz yeah, he’s traumatized and pissed and he has every right to lash out. but if the narrative frames him as a bad person for lashing out against the people who RAPED him, imma prolly drop this one (im team chester, he can fuck over every single character here and he still has done nothing wrong in my eyes, all he ever did was show some tepid kindness to a drunk and he was violently and repetitively assaulted for it….ngl knowing for sure that it wasnt consensual makes me reeeeallly dislike jellard. i was kinda excusing his behavior before as the usual yaoi trope of “he says no but he means yes” type of bullshit but uuuuhhh from what chester is saying, he really meant no and jellard is a rapist so yay) ((lol everyone arguing in earlier chaps whether hes bi or straight or gay, nah man, his sexuality is rapist)) (((ok i’ll admit that the plot is hinting that theres some potentially magical force that causes people to become attracted to chester and thats prolly why jellard no-homo fucked him but considering the deranged and ongoing nature of the assualts as described by veilynn, im still going to call him a fucking rapist)))

So he is going after his former male lover but doesn’t question something super massive. Why is the girl that died of illness is still alive and working. Like she was the catalyst of the book being the funeral he attended, but is uninterested in the fact she is alive just wants to hurt the ML.

I’m guessing it has something to do due with the previous timeline. If he regressed, maybe he died after the supposed ending and Chester had something to do with his death. It would explain the hostility to him, despite Chester’s improved attitude. I wonder if he’s intending on a revenge barrage on Chester and the others instead of getting a 2nd chance with Veilynn’s sis or maybe he is that awful. It wouldn’t be the first time the original MC would had a twist to their personality…
