    the FL is very smart but hey.. she cant settle Jellard emotions with her. (Ik that she is focused with the OG novel but hey this is the truth thoo-? srry :,)

    Guys I think you’re forgetting the fact that she’s basing her interactions on the idea that Jellard is gay. She won’t be assuming that he’s into her if she thinks he isn’t even interested in her gender. It doesn’t matter how good she is in social situations, if you have a preconception of someone’s identity it’s always gonna take precedent and paint every interaction you have with them afterwards until they reveal otherwise.

    Too be fair, they sort of explained why she isn’t picking up on Jellard’s signs. She’s convinced she knows Jellard from the book. Everyone else acts in character as well. She blind to the him in front of her because of her previously determined image, and she’s fine with that because this is just a contract and the Jellard she knows could never love her anyway.

      The story has her as this person who’s great at social situations, reading social cues and guessing people’s thoughts. Her father uses her social wits to further his social and financial standing.

      But the story also keeps making her unable to accurately read her finance, AND keeps having her coming up with misunderstanding on her own.

      This is not consistent. This is the same as so many stories making the FL be capable and clever people, but when they are around ML they keep stumbling/trip on rocks or run headless into problems.
