Dont understand why in those mangas they make small kids wear short pants even in winter. Its weird, not to mention this litle one is almost crossdresing.

Agree about the long pants being necessary for young children in winter. The clothes to me just look similar to normal mens clothing from the historical period settings these seem to resemble. Plus, apparently from like mid 1500’s to like maybe sometime 1900’s young boys were often put in dresses until a certain age so apparently he could be wearing and actual dress and it wouldn’t be crossdressing
