here’s the thing about asking an adult what their intention was when they were a child : any honest answer is only as honest as they want to believe as an adult.

not saying it’s okay or excusable or where accountability falls, but she is being asked (or asking herself via hallucination) what she was thinking as an abused and traumatised child standing over a crib a while lifetime and two deaths later.
I don’t blame her little sister but she is partially at fault also imo. Of course, those sh*t “parents” are 99.9% to blame but the sister admitted that she knew how poorly FL was being treated but didn’t really help her out like i.e asking her parents to treat her better (even if it won’t work) or letting her go out instead of guilting her into staying (remember when she kinda blamed FL for being the healthy one and forcing her to stay with her). Of course this responsibility shouldn’t fall on a sick little child which FL understands and why genuinely loves her sister. But she’s isn’t innocent is all I’m saying. With those kind of parents and her illness, she already turned out the best she could.
Imagine trying to blame a dead child because her parents were terrible to her older sibling. Couldn’t be me. Anyway, Pharsabae is incorrect on every conceivable level. The main causes of the female leads trauma and suffering are her parents and their treatment of her. Her younger sister is not at fault for being sick child nearly 10 years younger than her sister with literally 0 control over how her parents acted.
