Idea: Maybe that world has a cycle where the devils always show up and everything goes down the drain, similar to “Beware of the Villainess”. Ariel got fed up with being basically the scapegoat the entire time, so she put that prophecy out into the universe, like writing a letter in a bottle, and it got “opened” on Earth, where it materialized as a novel. The MC found it, got connected, and either fit the bill better than others or simply lost/won the lottery.
