I like that even though he remembered his past. He still give chloe a chance to finally stand up for herself and actually choose her happiness. Something that is a better path rather than revenge. I think he doesn’t want her to be in the dark position again where even if she does get her revenge, she will just be empty and not happy.
He doesn’t want her to be on the same path like Kairos did to both of them. Like remember on their past life when kairos badly wanted to take revenge and kill the emperor. Eventually he did got his revenge and became emperor. But became empty and in despair when chloe died. In this new life, i think the emperor still cares for her and doesn’t want her to feel that again.
