Idk if it’s just weak fantasy story writing or a sign of the king’s stupidity, but that’s absolutely cause for an uprise of both noble class and commoners. with a family as influential as the Lombardis, they could easily spread rumors and ruin the imperials’ reputation
It is troublesome that he has a very lukewarm reaction to his son almost slicing a noble daughter in half in front of him, her father, and grandfather – this should be a major blow to any future plans that will need the involvement of the Lombardi, especially with them as a house of influence… I’m really hoping that something is lost in translation, but I think the king was assuming that the grandfather doesn’t care so much of the well-being of his granddaughter and this can be swept of the rug as mild teasing on his son’s part? He must be that dumb? Can’t wait to see him fall from Grace together with his basura family as Tia destroys them to secure her place on top.
I don’t think the grandfather will let it go that easily, but as for the father, he supports the 1st prince as his successor so he won’t punish him severely while using his second son as a way to not only soothe over the incident but try to use him politically as well. The king isn’t stupid, but favors that son because of his mother’s family background and the support it has. The Lombardi’s though they are powerful also have to give and take. They have a lot of power but have to choose when to use it else risk a bunch of nobles causing them grief in the future that includes the royal family.
