Final Chapters of Light Novel of this manhwa were EPIC
After killing the emperor by poison, Perez starved the first prince and Empress. Even when empress completely lost everything, she didn’t break until, Perez offered a deal to first prince, in return for a Luxurious dinner, first prince had to write that it was all empress plan to poison the emperor and he was forced to be part of it. First princes accepted the offer and did just that. Finally, witnessing first princes actions, Empress was overcome by the sense of betrayal from her own son for whom she risked everything, causing her to lose her sanity. Seeing empress finally lose her mind, thus Perez was filled with deep satisfaction. Although Empress lost, perez didn’t kill her, but instead forced her to live until she dies of old age which could be considered a form of endless torture for a “empress” to be stuck in a dark prison with mices.
Empress family was removed from the Noble register and forgotten in time with no mention of their existance even in the history of the empire. Thus Perez found his salvation.

Although Perez will use legal means to imprison first prince and empress in future chapters, he still achieved by framing the empress for an assassination attempt on emperor and when emperor was bedridden, Perez poisoned him to dead and was actively ignore emperors decree and orders. Plus the assassination attempt on Perez and tia was just a play to fool empress. Overall, I think Perez also used some underhanded means to corner empress.
I am referring to the events in the novel (which is already completed) and details are subject to change in the manhwa if the artist wishes.
@slimepower you’re right, but I think in a way its because Perez is thorough, and Tia trusts Perez to do his own work so she doesnt meddle.
Angenas is the head of the west and she is the empress and her son is the first born. While Perez is the total opposite. If Perez does anything and he gets caught, it’s totally over for him at once. The empress won’t let that go.
Im not going to spoil anything, but his plan is to thoroughly remove the empress’s and first prince’s power through legal means that way they have no way out.
sometimes i feel like the protagonists of manhwas like this play too much by the rules… i mean they always never strike back directly even when their enemies always sent assassins to them… only killing the assassins…

like… why don’t you retaliate by sending them back some assassins… what is the most cherished things for a woman in that era? their face…
make the empress has a scar across her face and see if she still dare to do anything dirty… she still dares? make her brother, the head of angenas a cripple… still dare? kill some of her maids..

i know it is kinda ruled out because of censors and age restriction for manhwas but you see, it’s just simpler if you don’t play by the rules (and please pardon my villainous thoughts 🙏🏻)
