ML’s comeback is a little rushed but that’s how the plot is. FL is having misunderstandings that ML doesnt like her which is so cliche but love how FL kicks everyone’s azzes
tbh one of the reasons i love her so much is because she legitimately doesn’t care if he likes her or not. and as for jingyu, it’s not necessarily true that he likes her yet. he appreciates and respects her, he hasn’t really fallen in love yet. i just like that he’s a good enough person to treat her with decency regardless of his fondness level
also, she’s not really misunderstanding whether or not he likes her or not, she’s assessing what sort of person he is and assuming that he isn’t a good person based on how most the people around her ever since her family died have been shitty people. it’s a caution and paranoia not to immediately trust the first man who is nice to her (like if she trusted the first guy who was nice to her, she might have wound up stuck to that gross af younger brother LOL jingyu has to prove he’s worthy of her respect before she’ll even bother to care whether he likes her or not)
tho i admit some of this insight is clearer in the novel than the manhua. but i gotta speak up for how refreshing i think qingning is. i love her ;w;
