Also, if it were really about rarity then things like diamonds too would lose their value. Not only are they more common than the industry would have you believe, but we also have the ability to artificially manufacture them.
Well yea. You know if valued stuff based on rarity, Helium the gas we put in party balloons would be more expensive than gold. (we are exhausting helium reserves and it will disappear in a couple decades.)

“Expensive” is a term used to describe products marketed towards people with more money than sense… seems accurate
