Argh… the translation was pretty bad, thankfully, I think I have a grasp at what happened just now though “My princess, how could I leave you behind” is VERY confusing. Perhaps a panel was left out.

I think she was referring to the duke in that line. A better translation may be “Your grace, where would I be going if I leave?” or something along those lines.
