@MiscMech ya I agree in her og world she had her own identity that she had built due to her own talent and hardwork but in this world most people seem to respect her only because of the Duke and she doesn’t have any respect because of her own personality and talents

It’s not just her career in the other world. There’s also her family, friends, culture, history, etc. Literally everything she’s ever known. She’s enjoyed the maids treating her like they’re her fans, but she’s also experienced several unpleasant things including attempted murder. She also has no identity or presence here outside of her relationship with the Duke. Like, does she have anyone she can call a friend here? She has swordsmanship training, but she really only ever seems to do activities/go out when it involves the duke. It doesn’t really feel like she’s building a life – idk.
And yeah, they’re handling this all well now. I’ve just seen so many stories where, wen the FL does decide to stay, suddenly they’re all, “oh actually she wasn’t that close to her family and hated her job anyways so yippee” Or they just drop the conflict entirely and hope readers don’t notice. Maybe I’m being too pessimistic – this is better written than a lot of others in the genre so far anyways.
It’s just the whole notion of “Oh you may have things you value, but once you find true love/the one/the man of your dreams nothing else will matter more”
As an aside: I think that the Duke going with her and being under her care in her OG world would be really interesting to explore. He’s the fish out of water and gets to see her in her element.

1. She’s been enjoying her life here, in general, not just because of ML
2. While being a celebrity was all she’s ever known back in her world, she’s likely currently found something else as or even more important to her than being a celeb
I feel like these things won’t ever become ‘trivial’ to her, especially since it’s the reason she’s so conflicted right now
Okay, I love their relationship and do hope they get together (and they will, because of course they will) but her being all, “I don’t believe in marriage and I have my career and family in the other world”… And then she decides that ML is worth more to her than all that… Really feels like the message of: “She just hadn’t found the right man yet who would change her mind”.
I like how their relationship has developed and I like her inner conflict, but I’m worried about these things going from immensely important to her to trivial in the face of love (she’s already forgetting what it was like to be a celebrity?).
IMAGINE JUST IMAGINE, That the late Fiancee of the Duke Lyrel (idk her name) was regressed or transmigrated into this novel, now she is the fiancee of the duke who will die and is also stuck in the hands of the crown prince. She tries her way out. (ooh I should make webtoons hehe~)
jeez they’re just too cute together, I hope when Selena makes her decision, she won’t regret it whatever may come
I like that fl actually is conflicted and has a reason, and a way, to go back to her original world. But I hope they do end up together no matter her choice
