Those harassing servants are quite common, yet hardly make sense…. why would a servant care about status and risk his/her position or even well being to bully. Maybe it is so popular an occurence since in other genres like historical palace or concubine settings it does make sense, since they are the hand and feet of various fractions

Honestly yeah. Cuz the servants surely know the kind of person the duke is, at least to an extent, so they should be striving to be hospitable and respectful to a guest no matter the status. Afterall, if they’re a guest that the duke is willing to have by his side unlike fionelle and roselynn, it would mean that he’d very like care about them. Even with that aside, blatantly doing that crap to a guest of any sort, is kinda disrespectful to him as well since it’s like disapproving his judgement of who deserves decent treatment.
