Chinny forgot the part where the fl country started the war and she orcastrated every plan to defeat the mls army she was even out in the feild killing soliders even they they started the wars she was capurtured and rightfully so she was an enemy
I keep seeing people complain about ML being horrid and how FL should not be this much on his side: how have you all not read enemies to lovers tropes before and how have you all misread this so badly. The ML was severely mistreated as a child and craves unifying the land, and in order to do so he keeps several concubines and marries Nicole in the first time around because it causes strategic unions for him. He is an Emperor, this is his job and his lifelihood and his legacy to try to conquer land. FL was then used as a weapon by her family and eventually was captured in war as a prisoner, as happens in war, and FLs family basically said “Give us Nicole back and we won’t continue this war, you can keep FL”.
So that’s what the Emperor did, not because he wanted FL to suffer or wanted her as revenge for her family even. He wanted to eventually convince FL to be on his side, because his healing ability isn’t good in battle and the only thing keeping him in power was the general fear of him and his bloodline. He needed protection from his enemies.
FL refused for ten years to be on his side. He couldn’t just give her a life of luxury considering the extent of her abilities, she could have killed them all and fled if she was healthy and uninjured. He, as a gray moral ML is supposed to be between a rock and a hard place and chooses to do something cruel for a greater good purpose.
After ten years, she was given back to her family likely because ML didn’t have the power to keep her there alive anymore or it would have caused mass dissent. He sent her back to her family, likely assuming she’d not be killed because it’s her family. ML is not shown to knowingly send her back to be killed.
When in her parents prison, she meets Sang again who catches her up on everything she’s missed and she is soon court marchalled and beheaded for the crimes her family pinned against her. ML had nothing to do with her death. The only thing he’s really guilty of is being cruel and unempathetic as well as succumbing to peoples expectations and fears of the FL without investigating himself, dispelling them and showing her proof of her families lies.
Also again, this is meant to be enemies to lovers – like fantasy, severe, they almost killed each other enemies to lovers. It’s the whole trope. If you don’t like it, don’t read it.
in my opinion I understand why ppl are complaining about the ml, what he did was right whats the point of releasing the fl from jail if she going to betray the ml. its her fault for not betraying her country and having to much faith in her family, now in this life she has a reality check. i like the storyline the author created and i see no problem.
I don’t get this woman..(or the author), this ML LEFT her to die when he deemed her useless YET she’s excusing his actions and somehow blaming herself for not accepting to betray her country..???? He would have left her to rot in prison but he chose to execute her KNOWING that she was just a pawn for her kingdom..
Why does she seek his face, it’s too frustrating. 😠
