When the pacing is bad, then that also means the conflicts are bad. The reason this has no suspense is bc the author made their character know everything.
Okay so all that happens:
1. ML has this rare magical (no real-world counterpart) disease
2. There is an alchemist researching it.
3. Where to find the alchemist (found him right away)
4. Actually, FL knows the cure already.
5. Oh, she also has spontaneous OP fire powers.
6. ML maybe even gets cured…
I get that this is “based on” FL’s story so she knows this stuff but, unlike her, this is our first time hearing all of this. We could stand to take some time to visit and explore the different elements, yeah? I mean, this pacing is just terrible. Each of these could be their own chapter – there’s no build up or suspense.
