i think they’re saying purple is reserved for the royal family and anyone else wearing it is guilty of treason on a technicality. most wouldn’t really give a shit, but she’s not only punishing the actor for being disgusting but putting her selfish twat of a husband in a position where his own temper will make him look pure evil to his own citizens in public. she knows his personality would never allow him to look gracious in this situation. he sprinted directly into her trap and didn’t even glance down at the red X before the acme anvil crashed onto his skull
i’m confused as well. From what I understand, 1: it’s either a ring passed down in the imperial family (the one she’s from) and she was supposed to give it to her husband and didn’t.
2: it’s the ring she gave him and he possibly threw it away. Or 3: she stole it.
I feel like the first one is the most plausible, but we’ll see what it is in the next chapter or so.
