With this chapter and the previous one, it’s becoming clear that there’s nothing there. She is weak enough to be disregarded by her husband and his lover. She wasn’t ambitious enough to secure the throne for herself. She didn’t have the charisma needed to locate powerful allies.
All this was just given to her by some rando.
JFC, they should’ve kept the story in media res if they were gonna drop the ball so bad on the backstory.

Her assassinating them herself would’ve been much cooler, unless like Anakin is the culprit and he’s a yandere or some shit. Other than that, I hope she’s not an overly virtuous character. The “kill them with kindness” bullcrap is boring. CRUSH YOUR ENEMIES AND EAT THEIR FLESH, is the motto i go by.
