frustrating FL behavior aside, I love how author introduced someone who helped ML in battlefield it makes it more realistic than him being miraculous child war hero. he was a child who knew nothing, but he got lucky and got help until he was able to stand up on his own, and he ultimately returns the kindness he received so well.
