The story changed quite a bit from the original novel. But I don’t mind it. In the original, Reese wasn’t punished for henious crimes she has committed and had extravagant wedding with Chris.
That sucks. Why is the real culprit, villainess Reese, getting normal happy ending? She killed the previous 11x “Edith” just for hew own selfishness. Even in the original, it would have been much better if Reese got sentenced to death for her own crimes

They changed it from the novel. Looks like the direction this is heading is Killeon being the Duke’s successor. I hope this won’t happen. The original novel is better.

It is different with our male lead in the novel, after Edith recover they go to their teritory soon and leave the Duke family sooner to be far away from liz

I’ve got spoiler somewhere…that the shitty part abt this story, both reeze and cliff didn’t really get ‘punishment’
Reeze only got in prison, Cliff later one still become a duke…even the Grand Duke got no remorse abt Edith and just living his retire life with his wife
The only thing that keep me going is seeing Edith and get her happy ending
So yeah…don’t hope much for satisfying plot for the antoginst

So in the novel Clitt had no real consequences for his actions like Reeze. I believe this is heading to Cliff not becoming duke, while in the novel he became duke and was able to marry Reeze. Because Reeze still tried to follow the now non-existing plot, she embarrassed herself and the imperial family, by flirting with the Crown Prince and by trying to deceive the royal family. Because of fl she was able to live and just forced to divorce Cliff. He remarried someone later on with whom he also got children and felt genuinely happy whcih lead him to also apologizing for his actions.
I dont know if i told to much than asked or to less, but i hope its satisfying.
