liking the novel ending just bc it’s closer to real life where injustice is normalized is just a sad perspective. just bc you are more familiar with helplessness with how the real life works, doesn’t mean you have to accept it as normal. if everyone is like that then we will never evolve as society. fiction is one of many platforms we can exercise how ideal world should be. that’s the whole point of it. that’s why we escape from the real world to read these stories. and we should never give up to visualise what is ideal, even if for now we can only see it happens in stories.
I liked the novels end more… Reese didn’t have a satisfactory punishment, but that’s how live is, bad people don’t get punished in a Grand, satisfactory way. They just rot and watch their life collapse at the weight their own choices.
I loved how killian and edith choose to separate themselves and created a good and fulfilling life without remorse ou desire for revenge…
It’s refreshing to see an realistic end.
In real life we cannot punish others misdeeds, we can just live our lives the fullest.
