My memory’s not clear but I’m pretty sure cliff comes and rescues them but only saves liz and duchess cause it’s kinda apart of him and liz’s plan💀💀 and he purposely doesn’t check the basement for Edith….and when Killian finds iut he’s pissed bc he goes tk the basement and finds Hella blood and no Edith cause she escapes….Edith thought the ruderwick family abandoned her so she just kinda gave up and wanted to travel across the border and live her life as a commoner but then decided she couldn’t live with Killian even if he killed her…. so then she went back and got caught by the ruderwick knights. They brought her to prison to be executed alongside the rigelhoff family for their crimes…. and there’s a lot of heart breaking and warming scenes but this arc is definetly my favorite

I hope Cliff suffers for this because omg it’ll be honestly shocking if the whole family isn’t accused of treason? Abandoning the palace during a coup is SERIOUS shit. It literally does not matter what else is happening and it feels incredibly foolish for them to not have ample protection during a war.
Anyway, given the cold climate I’m almost wondering if Edith is correct about the ML coming to save the day just in the nick of time. (Ofc the ML being Killian)

I like the little changes they made, it makes more sense to the future consecuences, and I like that they gave the princess a more active participation in the story, in the novel this part was very quick and with little information about how the coup failed and who stoped it, so I like this more, now let’s see how the start of the last arc goes and if they change more things
