As you can read from the spoiler before, Edith will suffer even more. But all of those suffering are the main reason she will think that “no matter how hard she tried, maybe death is her destiny”. But little did she know, only that way she can meet the 3rd condition of the novel which is “Gave up to death”.
Before the execution, the blonde b*tch try persude Edith that she should beggin to the duke to spare her life. But Edith just doing nothing. That’s okay because Killian will be there, ready to defend her no matter what.
And if I’m not mistaken, before the maid executed, she basically confess everything “that Edith is just a tool used by the father and brother”

if it’s like the novel Edith will be kidnaped with rize and the duchess when they go to a party (they had to go for political reasons) and then she gets beaten by her brother for trying to defend the duchess, then gets separated from them in a basement, gets a little help from the mercenaries who first consider to rape her, got beaten a lot more by that btch maid, but cliff arrives and saves rize and his mother, captures sophia and edith brothers, kills the mercenaries and thinking Edith is a traitor who isn’t even in there leaves her without looking for her, and from there on it gets dificult and very sad for edith but it’ll be the las part of the story so wait for it
