I want to clarify something since I read the novel version of the story. I was. too, frustrated as to why Edith didn’t protest about the abuse and Killoen’s actions as well as wanted to know when everyone would find out about her abuse.
However, the thing is the manhwa cut and changed some scenes, and a lot of times the explanation is not very clear. In the novel, Edith tries to protest or tell someone “many, many times” about the abuse (both that she receives from her family and right now from the maid), however, the force behind the world stops her from doing so. Her voice will not come out and she will experience a lot of pain as well.
The force behind this also has control over the main character such as Killoen. He, too, will experience headaches and pain when he tries to think of Edith in a better light or question things and that symptom will get better if he thinks of Edith in a bad way again (later on in the story, he even realizes that many time he automatically thinks of Edith in a bad way just to avoid the pain). (Also in the novel, the maid lied to Killoen that Edith starved herself willingly to lose weight so she can have his attention (he will know the truth later though).
The good news is that every time Edith manages to meet the condition set by the force behind it, the person behind this will slowly lose control over the main character including Killoen. And this is the spoil from the novel if you want to know whether Killoen will be better

Soon Edith will manage to meet the second condition. That means the person behind this world loses almost all control over Killoen (and loses a little more control over the other main character). He will begin to suspect more things and notice a lot of bizarre things that occur such as the fact that everyone immediately blames Edith every time everything bad happens. With less control from the world, Killoen will be head over heels for Edith and side with her more. We will get to see him get jealous, try to earn Edith’s affection, and protect her. As well as the date they went together, On top of that Edith will gain affection from a side character that the person behind this world has no control over. Especially Anna, the maid of Killoen’s family who looks after Edith, after she finds out about the abuse, she really sympathizes with Edith and vows to support her as much as she can.
As who is the force behind all of this and more explanation of how those conditions work. There should be a chapter that goes into those later on in the manhwa if it follows what happens in the novel. I don’t want to spoil that part but I feel like many people might be able to guess who is behind those controls 🙂

Soon Killoen will find out about the abuse and handle the maid. Although, I prefer that he gives her much more punishment than what he did in the novel and that everyone in the house knows about this (Killoen end up covering this abuse from other because he thinks that part of the reason Edith doesn’t tell anyone is that she embarrass that the daughter of the Nobel is being abused by the maid), at least the maid is out of the house now. The reveal of the abuse shakes Killoen a lot and he starts to treat Edith better, try to protect her as much as he can, and admire Edith’s strength that endure all of this. He begins to question the house that Edith comes from as how they actually treat her (and will question more frequent later on).

Chill princess and cliff, it’s just a mild poison. This was clearly to frame mc as she gave the gift. Was there any proof that she did it?
Also, I can now feel ml is breaking away from his set character and becoming more open to listen and believe mc. And MC is so strong to be calm and collected at such a adverse situation.
