I don’t really understand the plot sometimes. It’s annoying to see her not fight back sometimes or not say things and the reasoning is because she can’t go against the novel? But she goes against the novel a lot and nothing happens to her. She slept with Killeon which MAJORLY goes against the novel but nothing happened to her. In fact, in order for her to break the restrictions she has to do things that aren’t inline with the novel.

I recommend reading the novel, this chapter was so fast and it missed a lot of things, in the novel it has a lot more details and it shows a lot more of Killian thoughts so you can understand more of why he acts this way.
