Ik that staff is upset with her as they don’t know the reason but that doesn’t give them right to treat her as they want and neglect her…. Letting personal feelings involved with your job is unprofessional on so many levels. Like, they need to be FIRED.
Everyone deserves to be fired tbh. Even the butler. Yeah, it’s realistic of them to be upset with her for running away, but not attending to her and leaving her to suffer from a fever like that directly insults Asrahan, as well as everything Lariette did for him in resolving the curse. They may not like it, but they still have their duties as employees of a noble household that they can’t just decide *not to do* because they don’t like FL anymore. This isn’t “realistic” at all. As commoners, besides being fired and not receiving a letter of recommendation, they could be severely punished.
The butler is also way out of line for allowing this to happen and overstepping his professional boundaries! He wants Asrahan’s “happiness” without even considering what makes Asrahan happy. No one is considering how Asrahan feels! Which is the real kicker. Instead of just blaming and punishing FL, no one has even bothered asking her why she left; they’re only making assumptions and punishing her based on those. Should FL have been upfront with everyone, including Asrahan, absolutely, but she left to spare Asrahan the pain of watching her die. She had good intentions. Also, all the nobles now swarming around Asrahan need to sit the heck down! None of them wanted anything to do with him when he was cursed!
