I think its not about cheating. Its about the person who was written to be with whom. She really didn’t want to interrupt the plot, let alone the ml when he supposed to be with fl aka Etoile since she learnt it from hard way by being the victim of the situation in her real life
Her past and present lives are very different. Why is she feeling guilty. The Duke is being sincere about liking her and he isn’t cheating. He didn’t even notice the FL because he found Ripley to be more interesting and attractive meeting her. I hope she gives the Duke a chance and stop her shenanigans.
