Sadly I’ve things like this happen and it’s not an easy vicious cicle to break. I supported a friend and her children so they could hide at my house since her husband didn’t knew where I lived since we met at work. So… yeah, sh!t like this really happens.
I sort of expected the two to bond more over their shared fear of domestic violence (she’s running away at least partially because Rupert will kill them in the main plot) and experience with estrangement. I guess this side chara will be more a passing face.
