Rupert you don’t have to lie,you deserve to be happy too. Forget that curse your damn mother put into you, after all you’re just human too. Pushing away your family just to protect them and pretending you have no emotions at all is not the answer to your problem. Happiness with them can heal/lift your curse

The curse didn’t effect her or something? Though to be honest, by that point in the original story, he no longer deserved to be happy or even live. He killed his own child after all. I was thinking the same— if he really cared for his family, even if he killed his child because of the curse— he should’ve atone for it the rest of his life and never even thought of taking in a new wife.
