doesnt seem like she’s actually evil tho? just that she has her circumstances? she’s honestly a pawn to much more powerful players and she has no reason to believe the kid will be abused at the palace. i mean, she might wind up being more of a dick but currently i think she just has a complicated situation and very little options

(i do think its a more interesting story where she’s just a political pawn rather than an abusive monster but thats mostly cuz im reallyyy tired of the maids, servants, nannies, tutors, etc being evil abusive monsters whereas the people with real power, the nobility, are their weak defenseless victims… so perhaps i was just seeing the story i wanted to read rather than the story thats actually here LOL)
