I really appreciate that he was actually planning to take really good care of the princess. It sounds like being sent to the annex as a slight might be a misunderstanding and he intended to repurpose it for her. I know he intended to use her, but frankly, she was in a worse situation than that before, so the fact that he was still going to take responsibility and not discard her at his first chance is really big green flag imo. He wants revenge, but he won’t hurt those uninvolved on the way.
