Wasn’t the illness around before she died as Gabrielle? And entering the story wouldn’t have done it because the curse was around in the original story, meaning it had nothing to do with her. Something before the OG story began was the cause, possibly someone else using time magic
The author seems to forget sometime which tropes he used and which he didn’t. She didn’t have anything to do with time. She lived one life then was reincarnated into another later in the timeline. So she never went back in time at all unless you count the novel she read. I thought it was weird earlier when she said that “normally” she would’ve regressed instead of waking up as the princess. It feels like the author thinks of this story the same as regression stories when it isn’t at all.
