I think the author is giving us hints here.
1. The holy empire queen and fl have the same eye color and similar hair color.
2. There is an artifact to disguise appearances
3. The queen comes by herself to rescue a fake princess. Why?
4. The duke comes by himself to another country just to hire fl. Why?
The only reasonable explanation is the queen is fl real mother. The duke and the queen are two people who are not supposed to be together so the queen uses artifact to disguise herself. The duke never doubts that fl is his real daughter. They lives could be fine if all their children have the same features like the duke but FL is like the queen’s.
