She only views the girl as the one from the future and seemingly does all this from guilt, not from a real desire to help.
IF she did care to help her, why did the future even happen? She knew the girl was mistreated but still did nothing.
The Duke seems genuine in wanting to save her, but the Princess is honestly a handicap in all this and complicates everything needlessly.
