What annoys me about the emperor and empress is that they didn’t try to find a way to prevent the prophecy from coming true they just abused and neglected Fleta. A child that has no idea of the danger she poses so she doesn’t know why she is being mistreated. She didn’t deserve that. Not even a little.

Even if Fleta is a child, the prophecy Fleta received would be enough to make anyone scared and paranoid. I feel like the queen is rightfully paranoid(rightfully, not justified) since Fleta could bring ruin as the prophecy foretells. The queen can’t just be “shitty” bc she believes a prophecy and she’s scared about everyone she cares for getting wiped out because of it It happens a lot in todays society in any case(The abusing part, not the child summoning a creature of the darkness to wipe out the world). Again though, while the queen has a reason to be paranoid, however it’s not justified to abuse a child because of it

I can’t blame the parents 100% though. Remember in that chapter where the princess asked the emperor to meet Fleta, the emperor recalled how they found out that Fleta has an afinity with the darkness. Their kingdom is known to be using the light/divine power, then one of the princess out of nowhere suddenlybhas an afinity with the dark power, of course they would be weary and scared, even if she’s only a child.
But still, I don’t think abusing a child is right just because she’s believed to be cursed. They are the ones who caused Fleta to summon or trigger the dark power (Basilisk) to come out, because of all the abuse and insult she experienced before.
