@Rococochoco Just as @AshCast said. She made this decision for her family and Leon’s (remember his backstory at the time? It was mentioned that he was sending money to his family – even if it was a lie what she thought). She said “no” cause she didn’t want to burden him with additional costs, and also so she could sell herself (even if that meant she’d end up miserable) to support her mother and sisters. Back then they were still struggling a lot.
It would end up so much nicer if Leon were smarter, but still… maybe this way ppl will have more respect for her, cause she deserves the Queen title!
She said no for both of their sakes. She thought he needed to make money for his family and she didn’t want to burden him with having to take care of her family as well. She said no out of love and got angry for his lie out of love.
It’s so conflicting because she turned down Leon thinking he was poor but how would she look if she accepted him now that he’s revealed he’s a rich prince. Id be pissed too about him lying because she loved him but said no for her family thinking she needed to marry into money to help them. Easy fix would be just talking to L:eon about it
