@AArtsy Nah. There are plenty of villainous leads, heroes, and side characters in countless stories with the same circumstances as Valkan. He made his bed – now he has to lie in it.
Besides, if FL did spare him, he would not stand still and let her take what is “his”.
Oh please. Provocation or not he hired the assassin of his own will. All three of those people and their children are trash and need to be killed painfully. End of story.
I honestly feel bad for Valkan.
Objectively speaking, he is the biggest and THE unluckiest *victim* here.
He has a bad personality due to his wrong and cruel upbringing but he isn’t really despicable at heart.
In fact the real villains who are quite nasty here are Philos and his son. Even they are being played by Gordon, and maybe behind Gordon are the bigger and true culprits.
Probably the ones behind the fall of the imperial family!!
Philos and his son didn’t hesitate to harm the siblings. They were the main culprits responsible for her miseries in FL’s previous life.
Incidentally Caan and Valkan were killed by Philos’s schemes even before any of that happened to the FL and her brother!
So I much preferred if she was more justice-oriented.
After all,
‘The punishment should be proportional to the crime’.
Thats the way of being rational and just.
Valkan did a very foolish thing, as he is very naive. But even that was due to the FL’s provocation knowing he really and truly loves that wench. She KNOWS his love for that snake is GENUINE, and she fully took advantage of it.
This doesn’t sit right with me tbh.
By this logic more or less everbody could prove to be guilty one way or another!!!

I loved how smart and strong she is but I don’t appreciate her taking down every single one of them indiscriminately simply because they are relatives.
Valkan was raised starved of love, being suppressed and full of scars. It was his father’s fault. Caan being ambitious while having inferiority complex ruined the poor child. And it is Caan’s inferiority complex which is projected onto him. He wasn’t born with it!!
He is totally a victim, just like how the siblings were in their previous life. He doesn’t deserve the worst outcome.
Even with his temperamental attitude and bad personality, he is just like any other bad boy out there.
He still has ways to go to reach the scale of a ‘villain’.
I really wished she could have spared Valkan and only, like, banish him from the land or something.
However from the way things are going now I don’t think Valkan could escape this ordeal in one piece.
I really wished it was the silverhead cousin instead.
It is unsettling for those who don’t see blind revenge eye to eye.
