and this is just my assumption (after reading this ch twice)
I think that Anita DOES have divine power and the debutante ball was just a way to weed out nobles who also have divine power. Although, only the Axion and the emporer know this(?) Also, I don’t think Axion was supposed to be there.

The portal might be refering to that fountain that Anita performed the ritual at and perhaps the relic was in there and reacted to her or perhaps it reacted to the spirit that went into it(?)

Anita, as well as everyone else, thinks she doesn’t have divine power, nor would they assume she does by any means, but when she performed the ritual it reacted in a way that it would to divine power users(?)

Now I can’t figure out if she ACTUALLY does have divine powers or if perhaps her powers are just hidden in some way(?) Axion said that no one survives the lake unless they possess divine powers. Anita can also speak with spirits which is also a sign of these powers being present.
