Every fucking panel makes me angry ,I know this is fiction but still how can any body be this dumb. With every panel she a new way to irritate readers intentionally

Idc if he actually loves her, I would need a redemption arc that acknowledges all his wrong doing and understanding that his actions drove her to leave everything. If I don’t see that, I am trashing this series when it has so much potential
I know that this chapter is trying greatly the emphasis Arsene’s “love” for Regina but I still see it as his obsession for her. Arsene’s “love” for Regina quite literally started off as a threat to the FL’s life and continued on as an unfair partnership where he would use her to gain a better social reputation while he committed all sorts of murders in the background. He frickin’ KNEW that Regina was terrified of his lifestyle and yet he made no effort to change his ways; even now, there’s still no improvement in his character.
So far, there were only two men who Regina was able to relax around while under the tight clutches of Arsene. The first was Logan, but that friendship was ruined all because of Arsene who didn’t want the FL near any other man, it had less to do with the fact that Logan was Arsene’s stepbrother. The next is Azadi, I really hope their relationship last. It’s genuine and refreshing to see their interactions.
I know that Arsene is the ML through and through but the author should really make an effort in making him change for the better because so far, his relationship with Regina is nothing but toxic
Why does Aresene need to change? This is how he’s living his life and him changing because Regina is scared is a selfish thought. This is his job and he’s not even a bad guy, he just gets rid of the people who make problems. Regina read a book and is judging him based off of it, which is understandable. But at the same time, Aresene hasn’t done anything to harm her, in fact, he’s been nothing but kind to her but she can’t see that because of the idea she has of him based on the book she read. What they need is communication, heavily on Regina’s side.
For real, I hate how he’s letting his obsession take over. Regina ran away because of this, she just wanted to be free, while Arsene wants to keep her in a cage.
@ssumee you cannot be serious… lol. so you’re saying arsene’s love for regina is genuine? or at least that he actually cares for her? so why do you not think that arsene should change for her… when he is very much aware of how TERRIFIED regina is of him??? he knows she’s scared of him and he finds it funny. he uses that fear to keep her in check/by his side. how can you say that wanting arsene to change because someone he likes is scared of him… is selfish? is arsene not the selfish one for forcing regina to stay with him despite knowing she doesn’t want to???
I agree with ssumee. They both need to communicate better. I get the feeling that arsene is just waiting on Regina to approach him on her own time. Yes. Arsene did give her a no choice proposal, but I do not think he understood the consequences until it was too late. Regina is also at fault. She is way too focused on the book, despite noticing some changes already. Significant changes like her still being alive. She still believes that the arsene in the book is the arsene she is facing, not realizing that she could be wrong. She didn’t analyze anything, but herself.
Also, I wouldn’t want arsene to change either. However, he already has. According to Regina, arsene would dispose of anyone useless to him. He could have easily did away with Reginas friends if he was still the Arsene in the book she read. She obviously has forgotten this part. After all, Reginas friends are useless to him. If he didn’t love her, he already would have killed them. He also would not have protected Regina from using her ability in the open. He could have used her, but he didn’t, and doesn’t seem to have any intentions of doing so.
There’s a lot of if’s. but I think they both are perfect for each other. When arsene catches up to them, and regina finally starts being honest with him, I’m sure Regina will feel pretty bad for the way she thought of him.
Arsene cannot change his way of life because he’s the emperor’s dog. The only problem here is that he’s obsessing with her instead of actually communicating and expressing his interest towards her.
Second, Arsene is not at fault with how Logan and Regina’s relationship turned out. Regina was disappointed at Logan for approaching her with a ‘purpose.’ remeber he made it look like it was purely coincidence when in fact he was approaching her deliberately.
And why all the blame is on Arsene when in fact, it was the emperor who is making the orders. If Arsene didn’t propose to Regina, i doubt the emperor would let her keep her life. The killings too, ofc he would kill an assasin. Just as what he said, he cannot avoid those incidents.
Im not Arsene’s fan, tbh I’d rather have Cyril for the ML but I think Arsene is not as bad as everyone think he is. He’s just not good at communicating. He waited too much for Regina. He assumed that Regina would undeslrstan his ‘sincerity’ when he didn’t even confirmed it f2f with her. While Regina just straight up assume that everything will go according to the book, when in fact a lot has changed already.
