I’m getting the feeling that the ML thinks she’s only afraid because of the assassin/blood. Like he’s forgotten that he threatened to unalive her multiple times ? dude, she thinks she’s next, with good reason
@Catherine Briar, she may have holy powers but it’s not like she’s fully mastered them. So far, she’s only efficient in making Holy Water while her healing powers are simply out of her control; it just happens.
Also, even if someone did attempt to kill her, not just the Duke, slicing her with a sword of dagger isn’t the only way to end someone’s life. For example, poisoning, cutting of limbs (for death through blood loss), drowning, burying them alive 6ft under, burning, starvation, suffocation, etc.
…. I realise I sound like a killer with the above example that I just gave? but please know that I do a lot of research for mystery and thriller fics.
