her death was the inciting incident for the novel, the motivating factor for isotta to move the plot along. that alone necessitates that isotta’s feelings for her are strong. so when regina didn’t die, isotta was left all the written strong feelings for regina and none of the angst of loss
idk i just think it’s kinda neat
