There’s lot of kind to express the love and one of them is being obsessed to the point that they can’t live without the person they truly loved. Though in some point the obsessed thing can view in positive way. Not in a negative way the emperor didn’t force elan the emperor is not that bad, he just have the right to chase after his family. That’s not love, that’s an obsession. Let’s not forget that the emperor did shit like that dream spell and also LABELING THE FL AS A TRAITOR. That goes beyond chasing his “love” and is just straight up coercion and entrapment. Oh, and straight up kidnapping her kids so he can get back with her.
And don’t tell me he had a right to his children. He absolutely had no right. He lost it when he knew early on that she was pregnant and he didn’t do anything to help her or her children, and was even actively malicious about it.
Your right isn’t not love and will never be pure love this is obsession which is not health he needs to improve his emotions and get thought his trauma before trying to get elan to love him and more importantly take care of kids.
Obsession doesn’t require acceptance, and thus dismisses the agency of the subject of such an emotion, it diminishes them to a mere object with a desired function. Elan was supposed to be by his side & have his babies while providing him emotional comfort…..I can’t over that, I don’t like him. While this chapter provides us with some understanding…the redemption of his character, which I hope/sure the author is building up to, hasn’t happened. And I kinda don’t want it to.
