Ok, I want to explain a few things: first of all Crown prince has some affection for Valletta but more than that he also wants to use her too and he is a psycho (not the kind of psycho that ML is, in my opinion, it’s worse and disgusting and it’s just began, he hasn’t shown it yet wait until chapter 43) and for those who are wondering why ML is acting like this to FL (why he killed her in the original story even though she was in love with him but he didn’t kill her here even though she is cold toward him) if you look deeper he already explained(in chapter 15-16) why: just because wizards have different energy than a normal human, human’s treat them “differently” like they hate them or treat them badly or ignore them or don’t look into their eyes while they talking to them or avoid their touch. maybe the Valletta in the novel doesn’t treat him like this but she treats him “differently” than others. she ignored everyone except Reinhardt (ML) which is a kind of treating “differently” that’s why ML killed her(and let’s not forgot she was obsessed and hurt him this way that is another reason for him to kill her) but Valletta in here didn’t do that. she was cold with everyone including ML.she didn’t treat him “differently”. she treated him like others, never call anyone’s name including him, made eye contact with him while talking like others and etc. in one-word Valletta here sees him just like others, just like a human being that was what made Reinhardt (ML) obsessed with her cause she was the only one who does that and sees him as a human, not a different creature. I think even if Valletta was kind to everyone including Reinhardt(ML), ML again let her live because it wasn’t like she treat everyone well except for him, she treat him well too

Crown Prince brought priests and spiritualists with him. Reinhardt wanted to kill them but because Valletta told not to he did smth else. He killed spirits of the spiritualists and destroyed cores of priests, turning them into cripples. They are all alive but won’t be able to use their powers anymore. Quite cruel ngl. – at least that’s what happened in the novel.

So basically, from my understanding, the Crown Prince isn’t saving Valetta because he loves or cares about her. It might be that the CP investigated Valetta and Reinhold and found out that she actually has alchemy powers. He might not have outright felt that he wants her for this power but a dark seed was planted inside of him that he isn’t even aware of. That he wants her for that power (possibly to secure his right to the throne).
If you notice after Reinhold said that, a dark aura appeared around the CP which means yes, a dark seed was planted inside his mind about her powers and having her as his wife would be a good thing.
