Yea he did wont go into it again as where talking it on previous chapter comments.

He literally had memories back after a day or so (no timeframe given in novel but it was very fast)

They offcourse downplayed it to make it less dark…..he counted on her being so strongwilled and just strong in general to deal with the abuse for awhile to trick them

Problem was him not knowing she is pregnant in the novel before this point its a tad darker themed with her struggling….stress etc due to pregnancy with her getting ill at a moment and stuff like that and he had to keep ignoring it for the plan t work

this will be a little spoiler but wont affect much with the reveal and why he did’t tell Erin….even while she’s strong mind and body the problem is….SHE CANT ACT….this is basicly the reason she was in the dark on the trickery
