I learned that in life, you sometimes don’t get the lottery of having the perfect, thoughtful and expressive family that knows how to do things. My parents whom I thought was unfeeling was at the same time struggling to raise us at the same time as healing their past, adjusting to the family they’ve made (because who had the manual on these things? Theoretical knowledge is pretty much different from actual application) and still getting to know each other. They were never showy as well. So me and my siblings learned to be close to support each other. As I grow up and matured, I realized, they were doing their very best at that time with the cross on their backs, baggage of the past and worries of the future. They were not always right but they did what they thought was the best of their abilities and of the situation that time. I can understand this family’s dynamics.

The parents probably grew up in the same sad state, thats why they dont know how to be an actual family, theyre living like estranged dormates. Its not too late, im glad that theyre trying. Its just sad that they dont know how to approach each other… FL to the rescue!

Neglected is a choice.. a child getting neglect by their parents IS abused. I will almost always said that it is one of the worst abused because children often doesn’t understand that it is abused.. with emotional or physical abused most children is aware of it been abused but you can’t really point at neglect the same way because often it look good on the outside.
Also will say what they parents did WASN’T okay.. however I do understand that some parents have their own trauma they haven’t healed before they got kids of their own.. and sometimes they simply aren’t aware how much trauma they pass on to their own kids.
