The manga didn’t really explain much about the moms situation, but basically she’s trying to give the FL more authority bc when she was the FL’s age she was powerless leaving her to have to follow her mother in law abuse also her mother in law basically isolated her and the servants looked down on her she wants to prevent that from happening to the FL so she’s helping her to receive more respect and authority specially if the elders are watching and spying after the FL
