I don’t see how people are blaming her for an action she tried to prevent. He’s a grown man. He can make his own decisions. How is it her fault that he refused to take the solution she had and instead chose to harm himself?
I’m seriously confused why people are upset with Eleanor — no one knew about her (HER) suggested alternative of freeing the witch (also, eyeroll at him for ignoring her), and everyone was stressed AF because the princess was basically a ticking time bomb when he returned, for which NO ONE had any idea or plan of how to avoid. If the unstable princess was made upset in ANY way, she could have flipped and made him a brainless vegetable literally for life, and no one would have any recourse. This was perfectly sensible self-defense.
It was a W that he was even able to get the princess sedated for long enough to pull off THIS plan, which had seemed infeasible bc of the 24 hour ex post vow-invocation possibility. So honestly these people should be sad the PRINCESS made him do this, but VERY RELIEVED. He’s free for good even if mute!!
I don’t think that kind of bandage would be helpful if he cut off or skinned his tongue. They’d have to pack his mouth with gauze to staunch the bleeding unless they could graft new tissue into it or have a magical healer.
