Yes he is the duke’s son. He had his looks from his grandfather, which is the signature look of the family. One of the reasons why the mls fatger abused him was he felt haunted. As if his father the *grabdfather of the ml) is haunting him even after passing away. The mls grandfather wad the reason why Liam (rachelle’s father) and current duje (ml’s father) split up eveb though they genuinely love each other

Nope, he wasnt delusional. In the novel there was a scene where he said “how can i face you liam after death if i cant even keep your daughter safe” it’s more like giving rachelle the love liam cant give to his daughter. Although he’s quite obsessed with the hair color because it reminds him of liam, the reason why he took care of rachelle was because he is liam’s daughter. And that liam’s family is his family also. Nog because he is dellufing his self of having a daughter with liam.

He never thought of the child more than being his child. He’s not a predator. The reason why he favors rachelle was because he was liam’s child and that he felt guilty for liam. He kinda betrayed liam after his father (mls grandpa) learned about their relationship. He didn’t have the balls to go against his father so he let go of liam. Liam passing away early, leaving the child behind, he decided for the sake of his love for liam, he will give everything liam cant to the child.

Also, his father (th mls grandpa) took every keepsake of liam. So keeping the child kinda reminds him of liam. The novel also portrayed the duke less livelier than this. Reading his lines in the novel gives of the “dead inside” vibe. He always look at rachelle like he was reminsing his days with liam and that he’s stares are sad.
