Don’t think he was ever gay to begin with- Just because the original novel was a BL, doesn’t mean all the love interests there have to be gay. He’s one of those characters who are pansexual? And by that I mean, they can be attracted to anyone no matter the gender. And since he’s also the obsessive type, he’ll only stay attracted to that one person. Which is why I’m a little hesitant to say Rachel’s brother is pansexual because even if Rachel were to reject his feelings, he wouldn’t just accept that and move on. It’s because Rachel was the first person to show Lucian compassion. For this same reason, Lucian completely gave up his heart to Noah, not because Noah was a male.
It’s hard since these dodgy authors NEVER clarify anything. Some are more blatant in “straightening” out gay men like bruh it’s clear they’re baiting to draw in the crowd. This one however is more tame than other ones I’ve seen but it still makes me conflicted bc I now have to think about the intentions of the author instead of purely enjoying the story!

I think all these dudes have been so affection starved that they’ll fall in love with the first person that offers it so they’re all a bunch of obsessive pansexuals/bisexuals. I feel like it will be explained latter in the story, ya know, why they don’t fall in love with Noah? But I do feel like it was kind of a shaddy plot to choose in the first place, like make it clear that they were pan from the beginning so no lgbtq misconceptions are spreading around
