He knew that the former duke was so brutal to his son and so the current duke is also harming his own son… Maybe he’s just concerned that his niece was also abused by the duke ..not to mention,that Rachel bears the appearance of her late father,so the uncle may think that the duke is also harassing his niece..

Plus, what type of good willed uncle plans to kidnap their niece while they can just talk it over with their foster parent and avoid possibly traumatizing the child? Furthermore, if Rachel’s uncle really was all that good, she’d talk about how much she misses him or try to get the Duke to allow her to visit him, but not once did she do that. For that reason, we can conclude, that the uncle is garbage and not worth sympathizing with.

I can’t blame the uncle, rumors spread that the duke is abusing his own son and that is true…if the uncle is devil,. isn’t it convenient to dispose the niece instead of keeping her? And on top of it, he’s got the title of the Count now,so why’d he do evilness if he’s holding the reign…?
