I will explain it for you guys to the best of my ability, though there might be spoilers so beware;

As explained by the other chapters, the old emperor named Philip betrayed the goddess.
By the goddess of light, he was given power and used it to cause havoc.
The goddess of light, namely Ser, gave Laontelle the blessing of light, who was her only friend that stood up for her.
Nonetheless, despite what Ser did for Philip, Philip was in love with Laontelle, but she had another she loved.
So he killed her lover and other innocent people, thus kidnapping Laontelle and trapping her inside the imperial palace.
In short, the FL is the reincarnation of Laontelle, while Richard is the reincarnation of Philip. I also think Blake is the reincarnation of Laontelle’s past lover, Rakshul, who was the crown prince of the Zelkan empire.
Also, the necklace Ancia has is a special necklace given by the goddess to the original Laontelle, it’s purpose is to contact the other person. Which explains why she heard her voice via the necklace. Laontelle promised to come save her, but she didn’t come back for thousands of years until she became Ancia.
Laontelle not saving her friend is a misunderstanding, I think.
Ser wants Loantelle, who is Ancia at the moment, to apologize and stay with her, and therefore tried to convince Ancia to betray the royal family.
The story gets really chaotic later on, with the goddess becoming annoying and doing something evil in order to protect her friend. But she’ll be redeemed at the end, so don’t worry too much.
So history basically repeats itself after Richard becomes obsessive over Ancia and blah blah blah go read the spoilers at “Novel Updates Spoiler” by googling “[insert novel name] novel updates spoiler”. However, all of this starts after this chapter so be prepared.
Also, the spoiler I got this from was way too damn long so I did my best to understand what my brain was able to process.
I don’t want to spoil the entire climax, so hopefully with this information you’ll be able to get the gist of what is going on or at least what is going to happen. I’m confused as well, so let’s just read the other chapters for now.
